Supporting La Plaza’s Night of the Americas

Arianna, Drew, JT, and Hannah attended La Plaza’s Night of the Americas celebration, with this year’s event honoring Panamá. Counterpart was proud to support the evening as one of the event sponsors alongside many other organizations and community leaders across Central Indiana. The evening also carried a personal connection for our team, as Drew serves on La Plaza’s board and has seen firsthand the impact the organization continues to make throughout the region.

The entire night felt warm, welcoming, and full of energy. Amid the music, performances, food, and conversations throughout the room, there was a strong sense of pride in both culture and community. It was a celebration, but it was also a reminder of how important organizations like La Plaza are to Indianapolis and the people they serve every day.

What La Plaza Does for Central Indiana

For more than 50 years, La Plaza has supported Latino families across Central Indiana through education, workforce development, advocacy, and social services.

Their work reaches people in many different ways. Some students are getting help preparing for college or exploring career opportunities. Some families are receiving support to navigate the healthcare system or find resources during difficult situations. Others are building new skills through workforce development and certification programs.

Throughout the evening, it became clear just how many lives La Palza has impacted over the years and how much trust they’ve built within the community.

A Night Focused on People and Impact

One of the things that stood out the most was how people-centered the entire event felt. The program recognized community leaders throughout the Hispanic American Service Awards and celebrated students receiving scholarships as they prepare for what comes next.

Hearing those stories added a lot of perspective to the night. Behind every program, statistic, or initiative are real people, families, and futures being shaped through support and opportunity.

The event also highlighted the continued need for investment in programs like the Latino Opportunity Center, educational mentoring, workforce training, and victim advocacy services. As Central Indiana continues to grow, so does the importance of organizations that understand the communities they serve and know how to meet people where they are.

Why Supporting Organizations Like La Plaza Matters

What La Plaza is doing goes far beyond a single service or program. Their work touches education, career development, housing stability, advocacy, and community connection all at once. That kind of support can create a lasting impact not only on individuals and families but on Central Indiana as a whole.

At Counterpart, we care deeply about organizations that invest in people and strengthen the communities around them. Supporting Night of the Americas was one small way for us to be part of that effort and show support for the work La Plaza continues to do every day.

Thank you to La Plaza

We’re grateful to La Plaza for inviting us to be part of this year’s Night of the Americas celebration and for everything their team continues to do for Latino families across Central Indiana.

It was a meaningful evening, and we left feeling thankful to have spent time in a room full of people committed to creating opportunity, connection, and support within our community.

If you’d like to support the work La Plaza is doing across Central Indiana, consider making a donation or learning more about their programs and community initiatives. From education and workforce development to advocacy and family support services, their work continues to create opportunities for Latino families throughout the region.
