Jake at the Indy Eleven Game. We’re excited to introduce our newest team member and developer, Jake Rogers! Jake joins our team by way of Wilkinson, Indiana—population: 200— and Indiana University. He majored in computer science with a specialty in intelligent systems (a fancy name for artificial intelligence, he says). Here’s some more about Jake –

Did you like growing up in a small town?
I did! We weren’t even in the small town, though, but nearby. I am the most reclusive of the recluses so I liked walking outside to just corn fields. It’s so quiet, and dark at night, so you can see the stars.

Do you have any community or passion projects?
I’m very new to Indy, so nothing local right now. In college, I was heavily involved in Tau Beta Sigma, a co-ed national honorary band sorority that focuses on community service. I also help my family run a volunteer and fundraising organization called Generations of Generosity.

What’s your musical background?
I play the guitar, piano and saxophone. In high school, I started a band called Indecent Exposure and played rhythm guitar. We broke up after graduation. At IU, I joined the marching and jazz bands.

What’s the last concert you went to?
Blink 182 with A Day to Remember and All-American Rejects

Name three things you couldn’t live without.
My computer, the internet, and books.

No constraints—what’s your dream job?
Being a race car driver sounds cool. Or a woodworker with unlimited resources.
