We are excited to showcase our new 2023 summer interns! Get to know a little more about Brandon Liu in our intern spotlight down below.
What do you do at Counterpart?
- Refreshing my knowledge on HTML, CSS, and Java script and learning about Jquery and connecting it to node.js.
- We then used this to connect a SQL database, and built an example program
- Then we will be using this knowledge to hopefully build a master task list for Counterpart this summer
What inspires you?
- I am inspired by many role models in my life, one of them being my dad who is a software engineer/developer.
- But working towards my goals and achieving great things to change the world is my dream and it inspires me greatly
What are two things you love about working at Counterpart?
- I love the open communication and friendliness there is at the company.
- It makes me feel welcomed
- I also love about how much they care about my mental health and how I am doing personally
What are three words you would use to describe Counterpart?
- Intuitive
- Friendly
- Caring
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
- My heritage, ethnicity and nationality are all different
- I’m ethnically Chinese
- My heritage comes from different parts of India
- And my nationality is obviously American
What are your hobbies outside of work?
- Hanging out with my girlfriend
- Playing video games
- Working out
- Researching about recent AI topics
- Archery
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
- I would go to Antarctica. I always dreamed about going to Antarctica and seeing the different animals and surviving in the harsh conditions
What is your favorite tv show/movie and/or book?
- I don’t watch many tv show/movies but I watch anime and I would say I’m pretty interested in DemonSlayer
What is your last played song on Spotify? (No cheating!)
What’s the one snack we’d always find in your kitchen?
Is there anything you’d wait in line for a week to do, see, or get?
- I can’t think of anything per say, but the new Elden ring DLC is hyping me up
If you were a ghost, how would you haunt people?
- I would be a ghost that can touch object, so I can go onto peoples laptops and program malware to ask for waffles from different stores.
