UI/UX Designer


Counterpart is looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our team of software development pros. As a UI/UX Designer, you’ll collaborate with your team to create intuitive platforms and products that provide bottom-line impact for our clients.

Responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components. You’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs.

To be considered for this role, you must have experience with design software and wireframe tools, as well as professional design projects that include work with web/mobile applications.


  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with developers and project managers
  • Translate complex ideas, workflows and business rules into simple interfaces
  • Present work to clients in sprint meetings
  • Deliver mockups and wireframes
  • Deliver HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Conduct competitor and customer analysis
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Assist with brand materials as needed for clients or Counterpart


  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Work samples or portfolio website
  • Proficiency in creating mockups with Photoshop, Sketch, or other visual design and wireframing tools
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS
  • Basic Javascript understanding
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Ability to present and advocate for design decisions
  • Strong communication and time management skills

Not required, but bonus points for experience with the following:

  • SASS or other CSS preprocessor
  • Bootstrap
  • Creating logos and establishing brand guidelines
  • Version control – Bitbucket or similar
  • Front end development
  • Degree in Design, Computer Science or relevant field
