BMWC Constructors

Building systems that support the precision behind industrial welding and inspection.

Who They Are

BMWC Constructors is a nationally recognized industrial construction company rooted in craftsmanship, discipline, and long-term partnerships. Founded in Indianapolis more than 70 years ago, the company has grown into one of the largest mechanical contractors in the country with thousands of employees and projects spanning complex industrial environments.

Their continued growth has earned recognition as an Indianapolis Business Journal Fast 25 company, highlighting some of the fastest-growing private companies in Central Indiana.

At their core, BWMC is a builder. But more than that, they are problem-solvers who understand that precision and accountability are what earn trust over time.

What They Do

BMWC specializes in industrial construction, with deep expertise in piping systems, mechanical installations, and high-stakes fabrication work. Their teams perform highly technical pipe welding across facilities where safety, compliance, and performance are non-negotiable.

Their quality control teams meticulously inspect welders’ work, verify joint integrity, and ensure every weld meets rigorous standards. In environments where even small inconsistencies can have major consequences, this level of discipline is essential.

Our Partnership

Our work with BMWC began more than a decade ago. Development of TOPS (turn-over-package-system) began in 2013, building on a smaller Microsoft Access application their team had created internally to manage weld inspection documentation.

As BMWC’s projects expanded in scale and complexity, so did the demands on their testing and inspection teams. Tracking weld joints, managing blueprints, logging inspection results, and maintaining documentation across thousands of welds requires more than spreadsheets and manual processes. The team needed a system that could support the precision happening in the field.

Together, we built a purpose-driven quality control tool (TOPS) designed specifically for their workflow. The system helps organize weld tracking, inspection records, and compliance documentation so teams can access the information they need when they need it.

Since those early builds, our work together has continued through ongoing maintenance and new feature development as BMWC’s needs evolve. Over the years, the platform has grown alongside their projects and the teams who rely on it.

Rather than forcing a new way of working, we built software that fits the way their teams already operate: structured, disciplined, and detail-oriented.

Why Their Work Matters

Industrial construction often operates behind the scenes, but the impact is significant. Piping systems support critical operations across manufacturing and industrial facilities. The integrity of each weld contributes to safety, performance, and long-term reliability.

BMWC’s teams approach their work with care and discipline because the stakes are real. Facilities depend on the strength of what’s installed. Teams depend on accurate documentation. Owners depend on accountability.

Without careful inspection and documentation, small issues can become serious problems. Undetected weld defects, incomplete records, or missed compliance requirements can lead to safety concerns, costly rework, or project delays.

Behind every completed project is a network of welds that were inspected, tested, and verified. We value being part of the systems that help their teams deliver work that holds up over time.
