INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 12, 2016) – Counterpart is celebrating the success of the Youth Mentoring Initiative’s (YMI) Annual Fall Breakfast. The breakfast kicked off YMI’s largest fundraiser of the year, which already raised $58,217 of the $200,000 campaign goal. This marks the third year WDD has been the lead sponsor for YMI’s Annual Fall Breakfast.

This year’s breakfaymi-logost brought together business, education, civic, and community leaders to celebrate YMI’s achievement, hear success stories from mentors and mentees, and learn more about YMI’s strategy for the future. All proceeds from the fundraiser will support YMI’s “2020 Initiative” – a goal to provide one-on-one support to approximately 600 students by way of school-based mentoring in grades 5-12 in the Hamilton Southeastern School System by 2020.

“YMI has been outstanding at connecting our youth with willing and equipped adults that provide mentorships that will leave a lasting impact,” Drew Linn, Counterpart’s Chief Strategy Officer, said. “Supporting organizations like YMI is core to who Counterpart is as a company. None of us would be where we are today without the help of those around us. It’s our turn to extend the hand and pull the next generation into success.”Youth Mentoring

YMI provides mentoring for students by building and sustaining a mentoring community with the highest level of service, integrity, encouragement, and empathy. YMI is a non‐profit organization that has vetted, equipped, and matched adult mentors to students in local schools since 2008. Through one‐on‐one, weekly, school‐based sessions, these YMI mentors encourage students to reach their fullest potential.
